Empowering Girls through Education

It is important in today’s world for everyone to be independent and self-reliant. With changing times, India is leaving its patriarchal society back while adapting to equality. However, in order to successfully implement and imbibe these values in every part of the country, it is important to enable equal opportunities for everyone without gender discrimination.

Education is a life-changing factor for every individual. This is because it not only ensures knowledge but also enhances one’s personality by providing the required exposure. It is essential in today’s times to ensure every child develops social, emotional and thinking skills in order to prepare themselves to work towards the development of the country. Special attention is required to be given to ensure that these opportunities are available for the girl child as they are not considered significant and hence are unavailable in several parts of the country.

In order to uplift the lives of women and girl child by making them self-reliant, Rathi Education Society has taken an initiative to provide free education to the underprivileged girls in Bhiwadi District based in Alwar city, Rajasthan where female literacy level is below 52 %.

We strongly believe that girls with access to education not only improve their own lives but also bring positive changes to their families, communities, and economies. This is our belief and conviction as Rathi Group and our humble way of making a small yet deeply felt contribution to a cause that is important and vital to Indian society.

Today this revered animal suffers unimaginably at the hands of humans who exploit it incessantly. Cows are butchered mercilessly for their skin, meat and bones. Despite cow slaughter being illegal in most parts of the country, they are being killed mercilessly and brutally – legs chopped off, nails hammered into their skull, necks slowly cut, forcing them to die slow painful deaths.

They are also injected with hormones to increase production of milk. Their calves separated at birth so that the entire milk produced can be sold, without understanding the pain of this all-giving mother. They are left scrounging for food at garbage dumps where they ingest plastic wastes and succumb to a painful death.

What most people do not know is that these gentle bovines, have a very complicated digestive system, and with continued ingestion of plastic over a period of time, it gets trapped in their stomachs forever with no scope for excretion or digestion, therefore getting entangled with different materials inside and turning hard, like cement in their rumens (the first belly of the cow). This is a ‘Plastic Cow’ and it is sentenced to a slow, grueling death.

Our mission is to care for stray, abandoned cows, bulls, retired oxen, and orphaned calves. We provide them with hay, flour, fresh grass, clean water, medical attention and a sheltered place where they can recuperate from injuries and stay peacefully, in the good social company.

At present, we host a herd of over 300 cattle. But there are thousands of cattle requiring attention and unless protected, they are destined to subsist on refuse and become plagued by various debilitating and often terminal diseases, suffer injury from careless motorists, or worse, be abducted and transported in very inhumane ways to the growing number of modern slaughterhouses.
