A majority of India’s landmass is vulnerable to earthquakes. The earlier earthquakes in Bhuj, Latur, Kashmir among others have greatly increased the demand for earthquake resistant construction.

Ductility is one of the most important physical property of high strength TMT rebars used for earthquake resistant construction. Rathi steel has introduced the super ductile rebars as per the latest international standards for use in earthquake-prone areas. The unique high elongation (18-24 %) and high UTS/YS ratio (1.15) obtained by Thermex quenching process make Rathi Shaktiman an ideal choice for use in earthquake-prone areas (Zone 3,4 and 5).
