IRCS DELHI BRANCH

Like all other States and Union Territories of India, Delhi too has a branch of Indian Red Cross. It came into existence in 1959. Its activities cover all areas of NCT of Delhi Lt. Governor Delhi is the President of Delhi Red Cross, IRCS Delhi Branch has at present its own double storey building named Red Cross Bhawan in Golf Links, New Delhi-110003. The foundation stone of the building was laid on 14.08.1962 by our Prime Minister late Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru. On completion, the building was inaugurated on 20.11.1963 by the then President of India late Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan.

Sources of Income

• Donation boxes placed at Various Schools, Vocational Institutes, Hostels/ Restaurants, Community Centres, Hospitals, Malls etc.
• Collection from sale of tickets of Raffle Draw held annually in the month of August with permission of Delhi Govt.
• Collection of donation during Flag Day observed on 1st November and Flag week observed from 1st -7th November every year.
• Donation by public.
• Collection of fee for according Membership of Indian Red Cross Society.
• Collection of Fee for imparting First Aid Training by St. John Ambulance Association Delhi Centre.

Donation to Delhi Red Cross qualify for 50% exemption to donors under IT Act 1961. Donation to Red Cross Hospital for Family Planning qualify for 100% exemption to donors under IT Act 1961.

Income of Delhi Red Cross and St. John Ambulance Association Delhi Centre are exempt from payment of any tax.
